What is a Weekend Wife? Well if your husband spends more nights at the Hilton than home with you ... welcome to The Club! There are an estimated 3.7 million weekend wives in the United States. In spite of our number, I don't believe we talk to eachother enough. Marriages like ours break the rules, and don't fit into the expectations of our little girl dreams. Yet, we've found out own ways to make it work and it's time we start talking about it.

Hope you had a fun girls' weekend... My hubby left this afternoon for CA (I hate when our sacred weekends are compromised)-- Just the beginning of a travel-crazy month for him... But Saturday afternoon, I had to smile when he asked if I would "be mad" if he cleaned the bathrooms... We didn't have a lot of time together this weekend (we had houseguests who had just left) and he was leaving on Sunday, so, yes, I would have rather spent some quality time together, but I thought about it for a moment and said "I don't think there would be a woman in the world who could 'be mad' if their husbands asked permission to clean the bathrooms'...! 'Tis one of the MANY reasons I am blessed to be married to this man: he does clean the bathrooms twice a month. One of my favorite birthday cards he ever gave me said "This, this was a girl to write sonnets about, to sing lovesongs to, to clean the bathroom for..."! (I had it framed and it hangs in our bathroom.) Lucky me! But I miss him...
Have a good week, Ladies!

HA! Lucky you. My husband would never voluntarily clean the bathrooms. He will, when asked, or sometimes nagged. :)
Girls weekend was fun! We went skiing so that was nice. It's the first time I've gone without my husband. I think he was pleasantly surprised that I just packed up and left for the weekend, instead of staying home. He even beat ME home on Sunday night. What a change for him to be waiting on me!
